Trans people live and work in every community in America: rural towns, farming counties, military families, churches and schools, factory floors. We’ve always been here. Trans Liberty works where we live, and in the places where the stakes are highest.

What we do

We build the political infrastructure our communities need to survive this moment and win the next one. We track legislation and hold politicians accountable. We equip candidates who’ll stand their ground. And through Operation Lifeboat, we show up when trans Americans are in crisis: getting people out of state when they need to leave, and keeping them safer in place when they choose to stay.

Why the heartland

This is a national problem, not a coastal one. The people who know how to organize under attack in places like Kansas, Tennessee, and Idaho have hard-won experience this fight needs. What works in a church basement in Arkansas works in a suburb in northern Virginia. We’re anchored in the heartland because that’s where the fight is, and we don’t apologize for it.
